New member process: a companion club application will be communicated to the membership; per bylaws, no written objections within 7 days means automatic membership.

• Current status: the club has 7 members of the Canadian Club; goal is to recruit one more to formalize membership.

• Budget amendment: raise flag price from $50 to $75; requires membership approval per bylaws; motion to approve passed with discussion on the rationale and framing to supporters.

• Flag program and committee: plan to replace aging flags and improve the fundraising structure; some donors have not paid yet; a
message will be sent to flag buyers; a stronger flag committee is being pursued.

• Public discussion: a need to frame increases as enabling more community impact, not just fundraising.

• Fall festival involvement: in-kind sponsorship for the Middlebury Fall Festival and car show; need 6 volunteers to staff the booth; set up
and staffing throughout the day.

• Bocce tournament (CSAC): board approved a $325 court-level sponsorship; entrance fees for up to two teams; call for captains;
target date October 3; aim to bring the trophy back; planning for multiple teams and publicity.

• Centennial committee updates: wearables ordered (shirts, vests, jackets, hats); a club store will be created so members can view and
order items (mid-September); a dedicated centennial logo and store for easy access.

• November centennial event (200 tickets, $100 each): 1 in 200 odds with top prize around $1,500, second prize $1,000, and multiple
additional prizes (minimum ~10 prizes planned); heavy hors d’oeuvres; live band Eclipse; schedule includes social time, drawing, and dancing; table discounts offered; volunteers needed to sell
tickets and collect attendee info to avoid last-minute chaos.

• Pavilion project: a 20 by 40 timber-frame pavilion adjacent to the Legion Ball Field, on town/college land with school district oversight;
expected cost $40k–$60k; funding via in-kind donations and community support; construction planned to begin about July 27, aiming to complete before the new school year; landscaping and site improvements included; broader goal to upgrade the nearby ballfield and facilities.

• Public-image and outreach: a centennial public-image team (Fred and Kati) to promote 100-year activities across social media, Porch Forum, Addison Independent, chamber newsletter, radio, and other channels; collaboration with Better Middlebury Partnership for broader outreach.
• Legacy work: Rebecca Hanley leads a legacy project to collect historical materials and memories; involvement from long-time
members to document club history.

• Participation: encourage members to join committees and connect with committee leads; ongoing reporting from the centennial
committee at meetings.
